COOKIE POLICY
Last updated August 1, 2026
This policy explains how https://www.nichoalx.com uses cookies and similar technologies, and what choices you have. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal information more generally.
WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store on your device. They are commonly used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, or measure how a site is used. Related technologies — such as local storage and session storage — do a similar job by saving data in the browser itself rather than sending it back to a server with each request.
DO WE SET COOKIES?
No. This website sets no cookies of its own. We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or tag managers, and we do not build a profile of you or share one with anyone.
Because we set no cookies and run no tracking, there is no cookie banner to accept or reject, and nothing here requires your consent.
SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES WE DO USE
The site uses your browser's session storage for one purpose only: to carry the page transition across a navigation, so that when you pick a destination from the menu, the arriving page knows to complete the animation you just started rather than flashing its opening sequence again.
Two values are stored:
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| nav-transition-index | Records which menu item you chose, so the destination page can finish the transition on the matching label. | Cleared as soon as the arriving page reads it, and in any case when you close the tab. |
| nav-transition-skip-loader | Notes that you arrived via the menu, so the home page skips its opening loader instead of replaying it. | Cleared as soon as the arriving page reads it, and in any case when you close the tab. |
Neither value contains personal information, neither is readable by any other website, and neither is ever transmitted to us or to anyone else — session storage is confined to your browser and is emptied automatically when the tab is closed. They are strictly necessary for the site to work as designed.
THIRD PARTIES
A few third-party services are involved in delivering this site. We do not control their use of cookies, so their own policies apply. They are:
| Service | What it does here | Cookies |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosts and delivers the site, and protects it from automated abuse. | May set strictly necessary cookies such as __cf_bm (bot management, around 30 minutes) and _cfuvid (request rate limiting, cleared when you close the browser). These are security cookies, not tracking cookies, and we cannot switch them off individually. |
| Google Fonts | Serves the typefaces the site is set in. | Sets no cookies. Google does receive your IP address as part of the font request. |
| Web3Forms | Delivers messages sent through the contact form to our inbox. | Sets no cookies. Contacted only at the moment you submit the form — never on an ordinary page view. |
Links to Instagram, LinkedIn, GitHub and Strava are ordinary links, not embedded content. Nothing is requested from those services unless you click through, at which point their own policies apply.
HOW TO CONTROL COOKIES
Although this site gives you nothing to opt out of, you can control cookies and site data generally through your browser:
Clearing site data will also remove the session storage values described above. Nothing will break — the site simply plays its full opening sequence the next time you visit.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If we ever add analytics or any other technology that sets cookies, we will update this policy before doing so, revise the date at the top, and add a consent mechanism where the law requires one.
